After four months of fun but intense competition, a team of mostly PebbleCreek residents won third place at the Phoenix Metro Area DJ Trivia Championships held at the Bonfire Craft Kitchen and Tap House in Surprise on Dec. 8, 2024.

They call themselves the Sliders, and reaching the championship match was no easy feat. The Sliders met at Augie’s Sports Grill in Goodyear every Sunday during the summer and fall for league play. After four months of competition, the Sliders accumulated enough points to finish in third place, not far behind the first and second place teams.

The top three teams from Augie’s advanced to the playoff match, held on Nov. 5 at the same venue. The Sliders faced off against the 14 best teams from the West Valley and dominated from start to finish. Their exceptional effort secured a first-place finish, with a score nearly double that of the second-place team.

The Sliders and the second- and third-place teams from the West Valley advanced to the Championship match along with 12 other playoff-winning teams from across the Phoenix Metro Area. Just like last year, the Sliders got off to a fast start, hit a slow spot during the middle rounds, but finished very strong to win third place in a tiebreaker. This is the second year in a row that the Sliders won third place. Congratulations to the Sliders!

DJ Trivia is played every week at approximately 50 locations across the Phoenix Metro Area.
