The Arizona Culinary Institute and Du Jour Restaurant on 114th Street in Scottsdale has been a favorite lunch destination for the PebbleCreek Singles Club for a few years now. I personally think it’s the Cats’ Pajamas! You get to watch the budding students become chefs, where you are waited on hand and foot! The service is done by the chefs themselves. They take great pride in their work, which includes the elegant presentation of each dish! Since we all “eat with our eyes” first, the presentation is paramount! You will reap the rewards when you devour the appetizer and then dine on their roast strip beef loin, my favorite, chicken breast over strazzopretti or maybe, the salmon poele with baked polenta, smothered in a light citrus Hollandaise sauce, with seasonal veggies. You’ll be in seventh heaven and be looking forward to their signature desserts, such as Classic Tiramisu (so-o-o light and refreshing), the flourless chocolate cake (totally decadent) or the Malted Milk Bavarian (delightfully satisfying and different!). After which you’ll receive a freshly made after-dinner Treat of the Day!
Sound like something you would like to experience? Well, let me tell you, it’s worth the $17 including beverage, tax and tip! How do they do it? If you’ve never been to the Institute for their unique lunch or dinner, I think you should put it on your Bucket List! You’ll find yourself wanting to go every day!
There are so many other activities, like bowling, bocce ball, river rafting, Pictionary, game nights, field trips, dining experiences and events lined up for the PebbleCreek Singles, it’s ridiculously exciting!
Not only do we have fun, meet new people and try new things, we give of our time, talents and treasures as a member of this amazing group of fine singles!
If you are a single PebbleCreek homeowner, permanent renter or even a snowbird, you are eligible to join our worthwhile organization. The PebbleCreek Singles welcomes any and all single residents to join in the fun!
Our meetings are held in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on the first Sunday of every month. The doors open at 2:00 p.m., with new member sign-ups beginning at 2:15 p.m. and members arriving at 2:30 p.m. to sign up for all the upcoming activities and events! The meeting starts promptly at 3:00 p.m. followed by dinner at a pre-designated restaurant at 4:30 p.m.
