That’s amazing! Such detail! How did you do that?

These exclamations and more can be heard every day Sheila Millendorf is in the pottery/sculpture room working on one of her awe-inspiring creations.

The Pottery/Sculpture Club of PebbleCreek is pleased to highlight in the month of September the creativity, talent and enthusiasm of this inspirational club member.

Sheila is a Fine Arts graduate of the Cooper Union School of Architecture and Art in New York City. Her career experience includes being a fashion coordinator for Gimbels department store in New York and later as a waste management and recycling consultant.

All of Sheila’s sculptures combine whimsy with cultural and literary themes. It is impossible to look at her work without smiling.

Pictured above with Sheila is her sculpture Wonderland Story Teller, a whimsical piece based on Alice in Wonderland in combination with the Hopi culture ceramic tradition of surrounding a story teller with several children.

All PebbleCreek residents are invited to see a show of Sheila’s sculptures in September in the pottery/sculpture display window in the Creative Arts Center.
