The PebbleCreek RoadRunner team competed on January 9, 2017 at Briarwood Country Club in its third play date of the 2016-17 schedule. Despite the inclement weather (it rained heavily for a while), the team put in a strong showing. As it nears the halfway point of the season, PebbleCreek is in third place overall, both net and gross.

RoadRunners is a women’s low-handicap (all 18 or under) league with teams from Anthem, Briarwood, Desert Mountain, Red Mountain Ranch, Superstition Mountain, Tonto Verde and Wildfire. The format for their events is Four Ball Stroke play, more commonly called Best Ball.

One of the highlights of the round at Briarwood was the appearance of a resident bald eagle that landed in a tree near the players and fished a pond on the course. It was a rare and beautiful opportunity for our players to observe our national bird.

Members of PebbleCreek’s RoadRunner team are Kittie Day, Ellen Enright, Renee deLassus, Mary Falso, Mary Harris, Kathy Hubert-Wyss, Monica Lee, Sarah Marsh, Chanca Morrell, Barbara Patrow, Barb McKinney, Marilyn Reynolds, Amber Rivera and Sheri Sears. The team is co-captained by Mary Harris and Marilyn Reynolds.
