I have been very lucky to be a resident of PebbleCreek for the past five years. It is an amazing, vibrant, sharing community. I would like to share my wonderful experience with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley of Arizona.

I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts. This is a lemonade from lemons story! I’ve learned how to paint with my hands and fingers due to multiple injuries of my shoulder, arm, and wrist. I learned to love painting with my hands and fingers. It is a completely different technique and you feel it from your heart.

I wanted to share this with children. I reached out to Donna Martin of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. Long story short, she gave me the opportunity to start teaching a class called “Creative Hand Painting” at their Littleton Branch. This blossomed into an opportunity to bring my class to the Bob Bove Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. Both clubs are in Avondale, Ariz.

The children range from 4th to 8th grade. We’ve done many projects, including one of the solar system. The project I am most proud of is the 6-foot long mural of the ocean and all of the magnificent creatures. They are all existing harmoniously.

I hope to continue this adventure in the fall.
