PebbleCreek Republican Club news

The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed over 100 members and invited guests to the Thursday, January 4 meeting in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Following the 6:30 p.m. social time, the business began with the introduction of the new executive board: Jonathan Schofield, President; Cristina Jung, Vice-President; Roy Azzarello, Secretary and Karen Rubsan, Treasurer.

It was announced that, following the popularity of the premiere dance last year, the PRC will host the second Boots and Diamonds on Saturday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The popular, fun line dancing instruction will follow the cocktail hour and dinner will be a repeat of last year’s great ribs or chicken with a full dinner menu.

The decorations will be another WOW. Western garb is suggested, and there will be dancing throughout the evening. Entertainment will be Matt Farris, an up and coming personality with Skytone Entertainment chosen by the committee after months of reviewing bands and singers.

There is still a little space for this do-not-miss evening. Please contact Bari Cavallo at [email protected] or 720-201-2993 for tickets or further information.

We were pleased to welcome back our speaker, Arizona State Professor Nicholas Damask, PhD, who addressed “Make America Great Again: One year later.” Nicholas received his MA in International Relations from the American University in Washington DC and his BA and PHD in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, where he concentrated on American Political Thought and Contemporary Political Violence. His doctoral dissertation was about contemporary terrorism and drug trafficking.

A Salvatori Fellow at the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC, Dr. Damask teaches Political Science at Arizona State University’s Center for Political Thought and Leadership and at Scottsdale Community College and has taught Political Science for 21 years.

Following the presentation there was a very lively Q and A session, an always popular part of our programs. The PCRC has presented a number of outstanding and informative programs throughout the years which have enjoyed a tremendous response. This program was another which gave valuable insight into the current political scene.
