There is a rumor traveling around PebbleCreek that there is a new resident, a Viking named Rudolph the Red, living among us. It has been reported by reputable sources that one day he was standing, staring out the window, when he suddenly declared to his wife that it was going to rain. His wife asked, “How do you know?” To which he replied, “Because Rudolph the Red knows Rain, Dear!”
If you chuckled or at least groaned at this little joke, perhaps you are getting into the Christmas spirit! However, for those of us who can always use more laughter in our lives, the PebbleCreek Republican Club (PCRC) will be providing just that at the club members’ yearly Celebrating the Holidays event, taking place on Dec. 1. Besides the Annual Induction of Officers, PCRC will be providing a wonderful evening of laughter and joy with comedian Mike James.
Mike James is known for his humorous wit with the result of audiences engaging in a night of merriment. Mike has traveled across the nation performing at many venues including comedy clubs, cruise ships, and even Fortune 500 corporate events. According to Mike’s website, “Mike’s way of relating everyday experiences brings non-stop laughter to his audiences. Mike has won numerous awards over the years and his background in improvisational performing ensures his audiences get a one-of-a-kind, and very personal performance.” Mike has also written for The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and The Tonight Show, just to name a few. Now if that’s not enough to lift one’s spirits, club members will enjoy a delicious array of heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and a no-host bar with special holiday cocktails.
The event is being held at the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse Ballroom, with Social beginning at 5:30 p.m. and Check-in at 6 p.m. What an evening it will be! For as Walt Whitman famously once said, “Do anything, but let it produce joy.”
