Donna Wisnoski began her sewing journey 30 years ago when she moved from Appleton, Wis., to PebbleCreek. She always collected and decorated her home with antiques. Donna had a desire to learn to quilt in retirement. Her interest in antiquing naturally led her to learn the history of quilting. She began collecting quilt blocks and feed sacks when she visited antique stores, using them as inspiration to turn into quilts. She never showed her quilts as she was using others’ work in her creations. On a quilt trip to Temecula, Calif., she discovered she was not alone. A woman who also did the same thing put a name to her creations as “blended quilting”—rescuing old blocks and giving them new life by quilting around the blocks.
Donna loves getting to know others and sharing knowledge and techniques. Donna recommends people to find what you love, and it will challenge your creativity and be fun.
