The PebbleCreek Quilters Club has a special interest group focusing on the applique. What is applique? It is attaching or applying a smaller piece of fabric to a larger background fabric. The outcome is the ability to create beautiful shapes that would be extremely difficult or impossible to make using a traditional piecing method.
Some members of our applique group love making items designed by Sue Spargo and Wendy Williams. These works of art are made using wool and are embellished with intricate hand embroidery, which is another art form in and of itself. These designs can take months to years to complete.
Others enjoy traditional fusible applique, reverse applique, or needle turn methods. Photos are provided for your viewing pleasure!
