Did you ever wonder why there are so many motorcycles out and about on the streets of PebbleCreek on Tuesday and Friday mornings? They are probably meeting up with other PebbleCreek motorcycle enthusiasts! More than 18 years ago, Virgil and Elaine Scherping gathered as many motorcycle riders as they could find and started an informal group to ride together. Virgil and Elaine still lead the group in exploring beautiful Arizona on day trips twice a week. There are usually between 10-18 motorcyclists that ride together and many include their spouses or significant others. They have explored north, south, east, and west of the metro area and always stop for a delicious lunch and camaraderie. Some members of the rider group are, of course, Virgil and Elaine Scherping, Glenn Sharp, Dennis Foro, Marv Smith, Dick Klovstad, Matt Overmoon, Mack Highfill, Steve Smedley, Chuck Robinson, Chico Charkowsky, Terry TerHaar, Randy Koch, Rodney Scherping, Ron Meindersma, Terry Descoteau, and Ted Perrone.
Last year several members of the group rode on an extended three-day trip to Bisbee, AZ and this year they are planning another three-day trip to California.
This fun group meets each Tuesday and Friday at 10 a.m. in the parking lot across from the Eagle’s Nest Activity Center. Come with a full tank and enjoy the fun! If you have any questions please contact Virgil Scherping at 623-935-1939.
