Presenter Lou Tronzo and Dave Pliska
Ken Minichiello
Men’s Drop-In Tennis held their annual tennis party on April 1 at Oasis Pool with Lou Tronzo graciously agreeing to be the usual hilarious emcee again. As always, it was a great time for the players and their spouses or significant others to get together to enjoy some good food, fun times, and entertainment.
Lou presented his usual tennis awards this year to Fred Carlson for his “smashing serves,” Dave Pliska for “can’t get the ball past him,” John Haas for his “unforgiveable angle shots,” and Ken Minichiello for his “questionable line calling” … although arguably others may have been more deserving!
At the end of the presentations, the Men’s Drop-In Players showed their appreciation in providing cash gifts to Sig Mueller for his weekly baked goods and coffee and to Ken Minichiello for organizing the group of 40 players year after year!
The annual party would not be as enjoyable without the hard work of Mike Brady and his fellow chefs Dick Hawkins and Dave Pliska for a great job of grilling burgers and making his famous smoked hot dogs. And we surely can’t forget to mention Sig Mueller for making his amazing cannolis and filled brownies with white sugar almond drizzle. Thanks also go to Dan Clinton for providing snacks at all tables and the required paper plates, utensils, and plastic glasses to enjoy the great food. And finally, to Peter Jeziorski for bringing the wines that so many of us seem to enjoy.
