Music Is in the Air With PebbleCreek Singers
Diane Piehl
Rehearsals for the PC Singers holiday concert, “A Joyous Holiday,” are well underway. An introduction to the holiday music was shared at the first rehearsal with two full sectional rehearsals, which prepared the chorus to put it all together going forward by the fourth rehearsal.
Who doesn’t love to think about the night before Christmas! Christmas bells are ringing along with sleigh bells bringing excitement to all. The Singers welcome new members Sandy Crabtree, alto, and Bob Chapman, baritone, to the theater stage. Three of the chorus ensembles are hard at work and director Jerry Drake always has surprises to share with the audience.
Mark your calendars and save the dates for “A Joyous Holiday,” Dec. 3-6, in the Renaissance Theater. Opening day of ticket sales will be online Nov. 3 beginning at 8 a.m. To purchase tickets, go to pebblecreekhoa.org, click on Things to Do, then Tickets. Scroll down to find the PebbleCreek Singers and click on Buy Tickets. Seats are $20 (handling fee included).
The Newest Buzz Is All About Open Mic Night!
Carrie Mataraza
Whether you love being behind a mic performing or in front of it in the audience, the hot new fun club in PebbleCreek is Open Mic Night that this past May launched their bi-monthly events in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls. It’s a great evening of entertainment—song, music, and comedy by your talented neighbors.
In fact, Open Mic Night has often filled the room to capacity, so the club may soon be expanding its venue. (Stay tuned for more about that.)
In October, the Open Mic Night schedule is Wednesday, Oct. 1, and Monday, Oct. 20, in the Chianti Room. The cover charge is $5. Tickets go on sale at 5:30 p.m. at the entrance to the Portofino Bar (bar opens at 5 p.m.). Show starts at 6 p.m. Just pay at the door and choose your seat. For added enjoyment, you can bring in take-out food from the Westwind Tavern for your refreshment during the show.
More information will be posted on the e-group and the Open Mic Night website at sites.google.com/view/pebblecreekopenmic/home. Want to perform or join the club? Email pcopenmicclub@gmail.com for more information!

‘White Christmas’ Tickets on Sale This Month
Laurie Farquhar
It may still be hot and sunny outside but it’s almost time to start thinking about the holidays, and what better way to get in the spirit of the season than by getting tickets for ShowTime’s fall production, “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.”
Just like the classic movie with the same name, this musical is the story of two song-and-dance men who follow two sisters to Vermont only to discover that their former General from World War II runs the Country Inn where the sisters are performing. The story line continues like the movie but the musical includes more of your favorite Irving Berlin songs, such as “Blue Skies” and “I Love a Piano.” There is also more dancing in the stage show with several big production numbers filled with sequins, feathers, glitter, and glamor.
“Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” will run six nights from Monday, Nov. 17, to Saturday, Nov. 22, with all performances starting at 7 p.m. in the Renaissance Theater.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 8 a.m. To purchase tickets, go to the HOA website at pebblecreekhoa.org. There is no need to log into the website. Just click on “Things to Do” and then “Tickets.” Scroll about halfway down the page to find the link for ShowTime tickets. All seats are $20, which includes the service fees. VISA and MasterCard are accepted.
If you need help with making your purchase online, please contact JoAnn Smyth at 623–466-8471 and she will be happy to help you over the phone.
