PC Players honor John Gimon
Laurie Farquhar
One of the PC Players Community Theater founding members has been honored for his many contributions to the club over the past 20 years. John Gimon was presented with the Outstanding Achievement in Theater award at the Players annual dinner in April.
John joined Players when it began in 1997. Since then, he has performed in more than 20 productions, worked as a stage manager, ticket sales manager, on set construction and as an usher. He was also Board President. The list of the jobs he has done for the club is lengthy and he continues to help whenever possible.
The Outstanding Achievement in Theater Award was established by the PC Players Board in 2010 and John’s name will be added to the plaque which lists the other club members who have already been honored. The plaque is currently hanging in the back stage area of the Renaissance Theater.
Kids’ Connections Story Hour
KT Tanner
Kids’ Connections Story Hour for children ages four through seven was presented by PC Players April 18 and 23 in the Tuscany Ballroom. Residents’ grandchildren and preschoolers from the Goodyear community enjoyed the children’s stories performed with activities and visuals. The children, parents and grandparents all had a lot of fun. Led by Pam Engel and KT Tanner, participants were Marcia Alderink, Sue Burwood, Trudy Chambers, Barbara Dunson, Sandy Mednick, Carole Rausch, Marilyn Roberts and Susan Turner.
Next fall we’ll take our show on the road with new stories to perform in community preschools. If you have grandchildren attending one of the preschools nearby, email KT Tanner at [email protected] and we will put their preschool on our tour. Also email KT if you are interested in participating in our performances; we have a great time.
