PebbleCreek Italian American Club October Luncheon

Italian American Club members enjoying the pizza buffet at Vero Chicago Pizza

Ken Minichiello

The PebbleCreek Italian American Club gathered for its annual October luncheon at Vero Chicago Pizza (true Chicago pizza) … a much-anticipated tradition among members. Thanks to club members Joe and Judy Scarnato, attendees enjoyed an impressive buffet spread that showcased the restaurant’s signature Chicago-style flavors.

The menu featured eight varieties of buttercrust, deep-dish, and thin-crust pizzas, along with Vero’s famous house salad, and homemade Italian sausages and sliced beef served hot in a pan. It was easy to see why, as Joe proudly noted, Vero Chicago Pizza has grown to nine East Valley locations, with plans to expand into the West Valley soon!

Adding a personal touch to the afternoon, Joe and his cousin Bob Fiorita pointed out photos on the restaurant walls featuring family gatherings from the 1940s and early 1950s. Today, the Scarnato family legacy lives on, with the third and fourth generations now running this thriving family business … something those in the old photos likely never imagined.

A heartfelt thank you to the Scarnato family for once again opening Vero Chicago Pizza exclusively for the PebbleCreek Italian American Club’s annual luncheon and for providing such a warm and memorable dining experience.
