It was a grand day on the green that raised funds for local students and the community. The PebbleCreek Irish American Club brought the luck of the Irish—and a whole lot of heart—to the links once again as they proudly hosted their 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament alongside their 2nd Annual Putting Contest. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of golfers ready to swing, sink putts, and support three wonderful causes: scholarships and grants for Millennium High School and West-MEC students and a donation to Thrive AZ to honor their 10th year of serving the community playing an integral role in foster care prevention, biological family reunification, and services for youth transitioning out of foster care by connecting deserving families and youth with critical resources and support that would otherwise be out of reach.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh, “a million thanks” to our major sponsors: American Wealth Advisers, Kyle and Melissa Addington; Realty One Group, Donna Strand; Avondale Toyota, Alex Cosenza; PHX Pro Realty, Arnold Hickey; Golf Car Superstore, Corrie Lambkin; and State Farm Insurance, Taylor Martin.
When all was said and done, an impressive 196 participants took part across the two days of events—a testament to the enduring enthusiasm this beloved annual tradition inspires.
Two Days of Friendly Competition
The 9-hole event welcomed 36 golfers, giving players a spirited and accessible round perfect for those looking to enjoy the camaraderie of the course without a full day on the fairways. Meanwhile, the flagship 18-hole tournament drew a field of 88 players, who tested their skills across a full round of play in the finest golf tradition.
New, and already beloved in its own right, the 2nd Annual Putting Contest proved once again to be a fan favorite, with 72 participants lining up to showcase their touch and precision on the green. It’s clear this newer addition to the day’s festivities has found a permanent and cherished place in the lineup.
Wearing of the Green—a Nod to Irish Heritage
In a nod to the club’s proud Irish roots, special awards were presented for the Wearing of the Green—celebrating those who came dressed to honor the spirit of Ireland in style. Recognition was given to the best golf and putting teams who embraced the theme with flair, as well as to the best golf male and female individual participants who wore their green with particular distinction. The colorful display of Irish pride added a festive and heartwarming dimension to an already memorable day.
Giving Back to the Community
At the heart of it all, the tournament has always been about more than birdies and bogeys—it’s about making a difference. Proceeds from both events go directly toward scholarships and grants for Millennium High School and West-MEC students, helping to open doors of opportunity for the next generation, as well as to Thrive AZ that continues important work for youth and families. Year after year, the PebbleCreek Irish American Club demonstrates that community generosity is very much par for the course.
The club extends its warmest gratitude to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter who made this year’s events such a wonderful success. Whether you were there for the competition, the camaraderie, or simply the chance to wear a little green, your participation made a real and lasting difference.
Sláinte—to another year of giving, celebrating, and playing the game we love.
