If there’s one thing PebbleCreek (PC) Democrats like to do as much as support their candidates, it’s party! On Nov. 5, Election Night, the PebbleCreek Democratic Club hosted a Watch Party for their members, guests, and other area Democratic Clubs. Not knowing the outcome of the election didn’t phase us. We just wanted to celebrate the end of campaigns that we had supported and worked for as hard as we could. Over the past many months, members had knocked on doors, phone banked, sent postcards, written articles and letters to many media outlets both print and online, and hosted many of the Democratic candidates in the state.
Club President Vicki Barber welcomed everyone and thanked them for their participation throughout the year. Then it was time to play! Attendees played a variety of games including cornhole, Jenga, Yahtzee, and a quiz. Tickets were handed out to winners to be redeemed for prizes including lottery tickets. There were glow sticks, flags, and lighted headbands that added to the celebratory atmosphere while the election coverage was shown on the big screen.
Several candidates dropped in during the evening including Quacy Smith, Mariana Sandoval, Eric Stafford, and Tanairi Ochoa-Martinez. All of them expressed thanks to the club and its members for the support and enthusiasm we had shown to them throughout the election process. Over the evening, more than 150 members attended.
The PC Dems were also proud to announce our brand new website, pcdemclub.org. Once added, members can not only view club news and upcoming events, but also register their membership for 2025. To assist members with accessing the new website, a number of club members brought laptops and helped individuals to register and access the site. Club member Renee Borsari generously donated her time to create the website for the club and with the help of a special committee initial bugs were worked out to have the site available for Election Night. The club is grateful to Renee and the committee for their hard work over the summer months.
The club has grown exponentially over the past couple of years, and especially since the beginning of 2024. We welcome new members at any time and also visitors and those who want to connect with like-minded others. The club meets on the second Wednesday of every month (except in the summer) mostly at Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m.
