The PebbleCreek Democratic Club’s Veterans Service Committee has coordinated an ongoing relationship with Lattie Coor Elementary School in Avondale. Last fall the PebbleCreek Democratic Club donated school supplies. Last Christmas PebbleCreek Democratic Club members donated 235 gifts for the Lattie Coor students in grades K-2. Every student received a gift. For many of the children, the gifts they received through the PebbleCreek Democratic Club’s Veterans Service Committee effort were the only Christmas gifts they received.
The Veterans Service Committee also gathered financial donations from members of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club for a Lattie Coor family that had suffered a tragedy.
In recognition of all of those efforts, the Avondale Elementary School District and the faculty, parents, and children of Lattie Coor Elementary created a thank you card and presented it to Bob Wiedower and Chuck Veltri, co-founders of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club’s Veterans Service Committee.
