At the Nov. 1 meeting of the PebbleCreek (PC) Democratic Club, members who are veterans were honored for their service in acknowledgement of Veterans Day.
Members represented all branches of the U.S. Military and were recognized individually with a handshake with Club President Vicki Barber. In addition, each veteran was presented with a special U.S. Veteran pin.
While the presentation was taking place, veteran and Club Vice President Jim Sheard read a poem entitled “I Am A Veteran” by Andrea Christensen Brett, a moving tribute to all those who have and are serving their country.
In addition to political and informational events, the PC Democrats also enjoy social activities and are busy planning their future event calendar. In December, a group of members and guests will enjoy the Spirit of the Season Holiday Show at the Vista Center for the Arts in Surprise, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. More fun events are planned for 2024 by the hardworking Social Committee.
The next club meeting will be held on Dec. 6, the first Wednesday of the month in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Club meetings are open and all interested PC residents and visitors are welcome.
