PebbleCreek Democratic Club elects 2019 officers

At their January meeting, the PebbleCreek Democratic Club elected its 2019 Executive Board. Robert Conley will serve as president, Chuck Veltri as vice president, Judy Hart as secretary, John Moore as treasurer and Shari Baer as member at large. A member may serve three terms in an office, but officers are elected annually.

In addition, the membership addressed programs for upcoming meetings, possible community service organizations to support and upcoming social activities. The committees involved in those activities were recognized for their ongoing efforts and commitment. Social activities on the horizon include:

* February 12, noon, Herberger Theater, KAX Stage, A Company of Warriors about the African American women who served in WWII

* February 21, noon, Arizona Broadway Theatre, An American in Paris

* March 3, 2:00 p.m., Theater Works in Peoria, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

* April 6, 6:00 p.m., Blast Back to the Past Buffet Dinner: Music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, Tuscany Falls Ballroom

* Members were also reminded about the every-Saturday morning breakfasts at Eagle’s Nest at 8:00 a.m. and the Men’s Breakfasts held the second Wednesday of every month, 8:15 a.m., at Eagle’s Nest. Both breakfasts are open events and no RSVPs are required. The monthly Women’s Luncheons are generally held outside the PebbleCreek community, are announced by email and because they are held at local restaurants, an RSVP is expected.

Upcoming speakers include representatives to discuss two local non-profits, New Life Center (February 6 meeting) and Habitat for Humanity (March 6 meeting), both in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Social hour starts at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting is at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to all.
