PebbleCreek Community Church Update

PebbleCreek Community Church Worship Service in Eagle’s Nest Ballroom

Bonnie Brown

As with the seasons, PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) is embracing change. After faithfully serving our church for the past several years, Pastor Bob Ripley has moved on to pursue a new path. There is a saying that as one door closes another opens. That open door has led to the return of our dear friend and former Associate Pastor Hal Merwald as our Interim Pastor.

Pastor Merwald and his wife Judy are well-known in our PebbleCreek Community having lived here for many years before moving closer to children as the COVID-19 pandemic struck. He has remained connected to our church through participation in men’s Bible studies and our online worship services. Pastor Hal and Judy spent a career serving with Young Life; they spent nine years in Brazil in addition to locations around the U.S. and Canada. Hal served as chief operating officer and interim president of Young Life before retiring as president of Canadian operations. We welcome Pastor Hal leading our congregation with pastoral care and worship, providing Bible study, and worship services at Robson Reserve. We are excited to have the experience and excellent ministry he will share with us.

A pastor search committee chaired by Susan Preston has already begun its task to secure a full-time pastor.

We celebrate the Lord’s blessings as PebbleCreek Community Church anticipates a fall and winter revival with returning and new community members. Our fellowship committee is planning exciting activities; the PCCC Deacon and Prayer ministry serves the spiritual needs of our community, including community hands-on projects like making prayer shawls and sleeping mats for the homeless. Our missions committee continues to support spreading the gospel message throughout our state and the world. We invite you to attend PCCC Worship Service each Sunday at 9 a.m., in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom with a time for meeting and greeting following.
