What started out to be a celebration of Jim and Carol Reynolds’ sixtieth wedding anniversary ended up being even more. The Reynolds asked a church friend, Jan Lovett, to arrange a cruise around the islands for their anniversary celebration and extend the invitation to everyone at PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) who would like to go. Jan planned every detail from the transportation, lodging and cruise to the Luau the first night, other shore excursions, including golf and the Main Event of renewal of vows. As word spread many friends signed on for the trip too, including some from PebbleCreek, Ohio and even New Jersey.

On the sixth day of the seven day cruise around the islands, we arrived at Nawiliwili Harbor on Kauai. Everyone renewing their vows, along with witnesses, boarded a motor coach for the beach. It was a beautiful, sunny day, but very windy. The Lydgate State Beach Park was the perfect setting for a very meaningful, touching ceremony. Pastors Harold and Christy Kilborn did a beautiful job with traditional vows that the group had chosen ahead of time. Those renewing their vows were John and Marie Aycock, Sam and Edna Stalder (Ohio), Jim and Carol Reynolds, Ed and Sharon Becker and Gary and Sue Tampel. The event was definitely the highlight of the trip and it was very special to have other PCCC friends attend as witnesses: Lyda and John Evers, Ruth Ann and Ron Glynn and Thelma Jenkins. Several from Ohio were also there as witnesses for the Stalders.

The group was always easy to spot since we had very bright matching shirts. The last night staircase picture gets all of us together for a rare photo op.

The event was a great celebration trip and time for fellowship. The PebbleCreek Community Church is an active congregation and we invite everyone to come and take part in our weekly worship service every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the PebbleCreek Eagle’s Nest Ballroom.
