It was a joy to celebrate Resurrection Sunday outdoors in the beauty of nature. Although COVID-19 once again prohibited us from hosting our traditional sunrise service on the Eagle’s Nest patio, over 200 people joined in our PebbleCreek Community Church Easter Sunday service in the Bullard Wash Amphitheater. The wash was filled with wondrous music as we sang “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” and observed communion with “In Christ Alone,” who is our light, strength, and song. Pastor Bob Ripley enthusiastically reminded us how wonderful it was to worship in person. His sermon “Beginning at the End” from John 20:1-18 challenged us to remember the hope we have in the Risen Lord regardless of our circumstances. We can be filled with the good news and share with others.
Unlike our previous windy service at the wash earlier in the spring, the morning was bright, sunny, and filled with smiles and nods as we worshipped. Our smiles were evident even though we were masked and practiced safe distances. Our closing hymn “Crown Him with Many Crowns” was an awesome song of praise and a wonderful way to end our time together.
Adding to the excitement of the day, Pastor Bob announced that our HOA plans to open the Eagle’s Nest ballroom for our in-person worship services on June 6. Please join us online for our 9 a.m. Sunday worship at www.churchpcc.org and live in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom starting Sunday, June 6. Be sure to check our website for details about the reopening, videos of our services, and Pastor Bob’s Tuesday and Thursday “Words of Hope.”
