PebbleCreek Community Church Celebrates 30 Years

Pastor Nate and Edna DeFord

Jeanne Schimmelpfennig

On Nov. 30, 215 congregants attended a church event in Tuscany Falls Ballroom to celebrate PebbleCreek Community Church’s (PCCC) 30th anniversary. The brunch began with prayer. Tables were then called to the buffet line where an elaborate assortment of food was arrayed. Pastor Nate and Rocio Watkins, along with Greg Goss, provided praise music. This type of event just doesn’t happen without hours of preparation. We thank Faye Sessoms for her attention to detail to make such wonderful arrangements for our congregation.

Of the six couples who founded PCCC, Edna DeFord is the only founder still residing in PebbleCreek. She was interviewed by Pastor Nate at the brunch and provided many facts to the congregants of how the community church began. It started in the fall of 1995 when a few PebbleCreek families regularly met in homes to worship. By blending the Bible-based beliefs from attendees’ many church backgrounds, PCCC was officially established as a non-denominational church. Our congregation has grown from these first six couples to more than 200 worshipers each Sunday.

Pastor Nate shared his thoughts about our church at this moment, which focused on the strength of diversity in being a non-denominational church, the unique challenges that lay before us, and the desire we all need to have to participate and sacrifice for what God is doing among us.

Dave Modderman was also recognized as a vital member of PCCC. After serving the church in many capacities for 21 years, he is moving to Oregon to be close to family.

PCCC is a non-denominational church that meets each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. You are invited to attend our services and enjoy wonderful music, solid Biblical preaching, fellowship, and an emphasis on Missions.
