PebbleCreek Community Church – April 2024

Batter Up!

Katherine Gibson

On March 5, the PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) Fellowship Committee sponsored a church event at the pre-season baseball game between the Cleveland Guardians and the Seattle Mariners at the Goodyear Ballpark. This exciting event was one of the most popular Fellowship events held in several years. The Fellowship Committee sponsors several events each year and never fails to delight with their fun-filled, themed activities.

Members of the PebbleCreek Community Church shared lunch and enjoyed fellowship on the Pavilion Terrace as the Mariners and Guardians played their pre-season game for Spring Training. Attendees watched the game and spent time catching up with friends and enjoying the delicious buffet.

PCCC is a nondenominational church that meets each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. You are invited to attend our services and enjoy wonderful music, solid Biblical preaching, fellowship, and an emphasis on Missions. You can view our morning worship service on YouTube.com/@ChurchPCC/Videos. You can also stay connected through our church website: churchpcc.org.

The Missions Committee at PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) established a goal to award an annual scholarship of $5,000 to a student attending Arizona Christian University (ACU). The first scholarship recipient, Ainsley Ebert, attended a recent worship service along with Bryan Stanley, Director of Student Life at ACU. Ainsley spoke to the congregation and expressed her views on education in today’s world and the importance of quality role models to train young minds.

It is refreshing to know that funds from our Missions Committee and additional personal donations from members of our congregation are helping a worthy student to obtain the education requirements needed to begin a teaching career. At the worship service, Moments for Missions showcased ACU, which is one of 19 mission programs PCCC supports throughout the year. Anyone interested in donating to ACU may do so by writing a check to PebbleCreek Community Church, listing ACU on the reference line of the check and mailing it to 15833 W. Clubhouse Dr., Goodyear, AZ 85395.

Did you know there is a Bible Museum in Goodyear? It is located inside the Hampton Inn at 2000 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85395. This is an amazing collection of older Bibles and ancient Bible leaves from around the world. You will also find ancient Bibles for sale. Some items are on display 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in the Hampton Inn lobby.

This free Bible Museum gives everyone a unique opportunity to see rare Bibles. In February, two groups from PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) enjoyed tours of this museum. Eight to 10 people can reserve a day and time for a guide to give a 75-minute history of the Bible and discuss what is on display. From Hebrew manuscripts to our English Bible containing 66 books, the tour is informative about martyrs, stories of the translators of the ancient scrolls, and documents that have become the record we call the Bible. You may need more than one visit to appreciate it all. If you are interested in a tour, call 623-536-8614 to make a reservation. Check this website for more information: thebiblemuseum.com.
