Woodworkers from the greater Phoenix area gathered recently at the Woodworkers Source in their Phoenix location to compete and show off their woodworking pieces. This year’s competition featured 200 entries, with the contest theme of “living room decor.” Pieces included wall decor, tables, chest sets, benches, lamps, and bowls.

PebbleCreek woodworking fans were thrilled that the “first place” plaque and prize money went to our very own Bill Raymond!

His exceptional piece was a tribute to music—an original design featuring a harp, guitar, and piano. Mr. Raymond utilized four different kinds of specialty wood and spent approximately 200 hours to create his design. His non-working instrument had a very organic and triangular feel—a shape that had intrigued the artist for many years!

Bill, an avid photographer, has taught photography classes at the PC Arts Center. He and wife, Gail, love to travel, play golf, play pickleball, and spend time with family and friends! Way to go, Bill, on your first place win!
