April came in with the heat! Although our weather was very warm our tennis club enjoyed hosting Sun City West players for the Interclub Social. Diane Bostock worked her magic and was able to fill seven courts with levels of 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0! Winners were 4.0 Vikki Constable and Marty McAllister, Bryan Bostock and Dan Schimmelpfennig, 3.5 Diane Bostock and Lorinne Bannister, Keith Constable and Bernie Reed, 3.0 Linda Julius and Jeanne Schimmelpfennig, Aquine Jackson and Doug Stansfield, 8.0 Jill and Jim Lewis.
Before we know it, summer will be in full “swing” in PebbleCreek. What a great time 90+ members had at our April “Many happy returns” social. Special thanks to Jill Santy for the great lunch and Diane Bostock for organizing fun tennis for so many people.
In May we will celebrate our no-play fundraiser social “Cinco de Mayo” which will be held on the patio at Eagle’s Nest. All you can eat (or until the food is gone) taco bar. Cost will be $15 per person or $25 per couple. If you enjoy fun and exciting tennis, meeting and making friends, entertainment and a few libations please join our club! Our new social “Date Night” has been a huge success.
Several work items have been completed on our courts. The gap on Court 11 has been filled in, the clock on the fitness center wall now has the correct time, resurfacing of courts three, four, five and six will take place in July, and our new lawn furniture should be arriving soon! Good news for our Tennis Club is that the “shed” was approved by Robson. However, PCTC will need to pay for one-half of the shed. In order to accomplish this and not deplete the club funds, we will be having a 50/50 raffle at our Cinco de Mayo social!
