On Feb. 21, the PebbleCreek Billiards Club (PCBC) and CantaMia (CM) faced off in a friendly but competitive billiards showdown, with matches held at both locations.

At PebbleCreek, five PCBC players challenged four CM competitors in a series of 8-ball and 10-ball games. CM edged out a narrow victory in the opening “race to 8” 8-ball match, winning 8-7, despite PCBC’s Joe Armbruster sinking the 8 ball on the break in the first game. PCBC answered with authority, dominating the second 8-ball match 8-2. CM regained momentum in the third match with an 8-3 victory. The contest concluded with a “race to 10” 10-ball match, where CM secured the final win, 10-6.

Meanwhile, at CantaMia, two additional matches took place. In the first, four players from each club faced off in one-on-one 8-ball games, each playing every opponent twice. The 32-game series saw PCBC emerge victorious, 19-13, with standout performances from Mark Mecklenburg and Lynn Warren, who each won six of their eight games.

The second match featured a ranked head-to-head format, pairing players based on number of wins for five games of 8-ball. This time, CM took the win in a tight 11-9 battle, capping off a day of exciting and multi-location competition between the two clubs. All players enjoyed themselves and look forward to meeting again next month!
