As with many good things of long standing, change is often difficult to engineer successfully. Throughout this past spring and summer, the PebbleCreek Creative Arts Community has worked to develop a group of volunteers with the skills and dedication necessary to continue the PebbleCreek Creative Arts Festival. A combination of experienced mentors and committed new members has coalesced into a Festival Committee that is now working on the Creative Arts Festival to be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, near the PebbleCreek Creative Arts Center from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Festival rain date is Sunday (November 13). The new date will allow the committee time to communicate with past, continuing and future vendors, and to implement updates to the backstage work so necessary to a successful event. Moving the festival date has also eliminated both competition with other local events and, weather cooperating, will provide a more comfortable exhibition and shopping experience for all Festival participants than has been the case in recent years.
New Festival Committee members have taken over much of the work formerly done by a core of dedicated Creative Arts supporters. New faces on the committee include the Branfuhrs, Diane Lawrence, Peg Janssen, Terry Goldring, the Carneys, Millie Burrows, Sue Ann Olsavicky and Rosalie Frankel. In addition to enthusiasm and new ideas, these folks believe strongly that an annual Creative Arts Festival is a PebbleCreek tradition worth continuing. Long standing Festival Committee members are looking forward to the innovations and improvements new members promise to bring to the festival process.
If you’re a member of the Creative Arts Community, whether through a club or formal organization, using the Creative Arts Center facilities and/or one of the many artists and artisans that come together on festival day to offer their one-of-a-kind creations to the public, you’ll be seeing new names and new faces asking for your support. Creative Arts Community members who have already offered help on an as-needed basis: you’ll be hearing from the Festival Committee as the year leading up to the festival progresses. The committee thanks you in advance for providing a resource pool we know we can call on.
