Triple-digit temperatures didn’t stop the fun as the PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) teed off for its annual Summer Sizzler tournament on Aug. 5. With a cool theme of Peace–Love–Golf, the ladies embraced the sunshine, the challenge, and the camaraderie during a four-person Step Aside Scramble on Tuscany Falls East.
A 7:30 a.m. shotgun start gave players a small head start on the summer heat, but the sun quickly came out in force, but so did the smiles. At each tee box, players were greeted with inspirational and lighthearted golf quotes from legendary players. These quotes perfectly captured the spirit of the day: fun, fearless, and full of heart.
Following the round, players gathered at the Oasis Pool for a catered lunch from Panera Bread accompanied by slices of ice-cold, summer-sweet watermelon, which was a welcome treat. A few of the ladies even took advantage of a cool down in the pool after a blazing morning on the course.
The competition featured two flights, with prizes awarded to the first and second place teams in each. The Summer Sizzler truly captured the PCLGA spirit—peace, love, and a whole lot of golf. A huge thank-you to the tournament chairs Suzanne Eleam and Kathleen Heigh for their thoughtful touches, creative theme, and perfect execution. Kudos also to our course pros and every participant who showed up with great energy and helped make this a summer event to remember.
Until next time—stay cool, swing easy, and keep spreading the love on the links!
