At the Member-Member Tournament earlier this year, the PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association elected officers for the 2016-2017 golfing season. They officially took office on June 1.
Introducing our Leaders:
Jerry Monk (President)
Jerry grew up in Dallas, Texas and lived in many states working for Kraft Foods in Sales/Marketing during his 37-year tenure. He and his wife Donna moved to PebbleCreek from Colorado Springs in 2006 after he retired. They both like to travel and try to visit Europe each year. They also spend time visiting their children in Texas and Colorado. Jerry has been heavily involved with the PCMGA over the last six years serving two terms as Tournament Chairman, two terms as vice president and one term as president. Serving as president, Jerry’s main responsibility is to preside at meetings and oversee the daily operation of the PCMGA.
Bud Held (Vice President)
Bud hails from Iowa and gallantly served in the U.S. Army for 37 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Most of his service took place in Georgia and southern California. He and his wife Char have lived in PebbleCreek since 1998. Bud likes hiking, working out in our gyms and swimming laps at the pool. He has served on the Golf Committee on two occasions and worked on the PCMGA Member-Guest Committee for two years. Serving as vice president, Bud’s main job is to chair the Member-Guest Tournament.
Mike Der Manuel (Secretary)
Mike is originally from Buffalo, New York. He served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years as a fighter pilot flying F-4’s and F-14’s, graduating Top Gun in 1976. He fought in Vietnam and retired as a Commander. Mike then flew for Delta Airlines for 24 years, ultimately retiring in 2002 as a 767 pilot. He and his wife Nancy moved to PebbleCreek in 2005 from Castle Rock, Colorado. His interests include big game hunting and senior softball. He headed up the Sponsor Committee for the Member-Guest Tournament for two years. Mike has a deep passion for the men and women warriors who serve our great country. Serving as secretary, Mike’s main function is to keep the minutes of the PCMGA’s meetings and communicating the results of those meetings via the group email and on the PCMGA website.
John Stergulz (Treasurer)
John is from Illinois. He started as a teacher in 1967. In 1979 he became a Public School Administrator, retiring in 2000 as a Principal in the Kankakee School System. John and his wife Ellen moved to PebbleCreek in 2005, once she retired from education. John was very active in the Elks, serving as the first Exalted Ruler of the Raceway Elks. He is a former Unit Rep for Unit 31 and served as Social Chair for the PCMGA for seven years as well as Treasurer in 2014. Serving as Treasurer again, John’s key responsibilities include the keeping of membership records, issuing checks and preparing monthly financial status reports.
