The PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association conducted its fourth annual Mid-Winter Classic tournament on January 9 and 16. A total of 72 two-man teams competed in this event, which incorporated two separate formats. Thirty-two teams competed in two flights that played from the blue tees. Forty teams competed in three flights that played from the white tees.
On the first day, the format was a scramble. All teams played the Tuscany Falls East course. On the second day the format was one best-ball. All teams played the Tuscany Falls West course. The players said the courses were in terrific shape.
Teams were “form your own” with a maximum of eight handicap strokes difference. For the scramble format the team handicap was calculated by adding 35% of course handicap for the lower handicap player and 15% of course handicap for the higher handicap player.
