The annual PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association Member-Member tourney was played March 7, 13 and 14. Compared to 2018 the scores were quite higher for the blue flights where the winning scores averaged six strokes higher. Interesting to note that the scores for the white tee flights were lower even though the weather conditions were difficult.
A total of 104 two-man teams competed in eight flights with four flights playing from the blue tees and four flights playing from the white tees. The Blue Flights played the Eagle’s Nest/Tuscany Falls East/Eagle’s Nest rotation and the White Flights played the Tuscany Falls East/Eagle’s Nest/Tuscany Falls East rotation. A scramble was the format for round one. One best-ball net was the format for round two. Two net-aggregate was the format for the third and final round.
A delicious lunch was served in the Tuscany ballroom after play on the final day. The annual PCMGA member meeting was then held to discuss pending issues. Officers for the 2019-2020 season were elected. Congratulations to John Low (President), Jim Sheard (Vice President), Ken Schumacher (Secretary) and Mike McMahon (returning as Treasurer). They take office on June 1. Each playing member received a Greg Norman polo shirt with the PCMGA logo on the sleeve as a tee prize.
The PCMGA presented a gift card to Jason Whitehill as a fond farewell present wishing him a successful new career in Minnesota.
We had our third PCMGA hole-in-one during the final round. Ron Morrow aced the 12th hole on the Eagle’s Nest course from the blue tees. Congrats to Ron! Regrets to Gus Gladding and Victor VanHorn as they now have to share the annual prize.
