PebbleCreek is an excellent golfing community and we currently have a total of four fully sanctioned golf organizations which are the PCM9GA, PCL9GA, PCMGA and PCLGA. On the most pleasant morning of April 14, thanks to the outstanding planning and coordination efforts of the PCL9GA executive board, a total of 158 golfers from both the PCL9GA and PCM9GA teed off in the seventh annual Mixer Tournament utilizing all three of our Tuscany Falls golf courses.

For this event, a Two Low Net Scramble format was utilized with all foursome team members hitting their own balls for each hole. For scoring purposes the two lowest net scores for the foursome team members for each hole were compiled for each of the nine holes. The team net scores were based upon the prevailing AGA handicaps for each player which meant that a high handicap golfer could get up to three stroke credits or Pops for a particular hole. Congratulations goes to Thelma Svoboda since sure enough, on Hole 4 on the Falls Course which is a PAR 3 hole, scored a PAR on this hole and her net score was a Zero which equates to a virtual Double Eagle.

The results as expected were incredibly close with no more than two or three strokes separating the first, second and third place foursomes which speaks so very well of the pairing committee’s ongoing efforts to assure an even playing field as far as competition is concerned and not offer any one foursome an unfair advantage.

Kudos to the winning foursomes as follows:

After the tournament we all gathered for drinks and refreshments on the patio in back of the Chianti Room at the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse and the tournament winners were announced. No successful event is a result of just plain luck and with that being said, much praise is in order to the PCL9GA members, Karen Morgan, Jeannie Sherlock, Jackie Voccola, Lynn Havens and Brenda Sands who worked tirelessly to make this Mixer Tournament a truly outstanding event. Everyone agreed that this was a truly terrific event and we all look forward for our eighth annual Mixer Tournament next year.
