A large group of 108 of our fun loving PCM9GA golfers participated in our first tournament of the New Year on January 14, utilizing both the Tuscany Lakes and Palms Courses.
For some time now, our PCM9GA tournament events have been characterized with a myriad of intriguing scoring formats. The Two Corners Tournament format consisted of counting two low-net scores for each team member for holes two through eight and for holes one and nine, three low net scores were utilized. Net scores are always based upon the golfing skill level of each player and higher handicap golfers were given anywhere from two to three stroke credits on specific holes while the better low handicap golfers typically were awarded no stroke and for tougher holes perhaps one stroke credit. This format always creates some degree of excitement since nothing could encourage a high handicap golfer to somehow attain a PAR on a PAR 3 or 5 hole and wind up with a virtual hole-in-one or perhaps an Eagle.
This time many foursome teams came in with almost identical scores and some complex tie-breaking rules were used to determine the winners. Congratulations to the winning teams as follows:

Our PCM9GA has started the year with a busy but exciting event schedule and our Verde Valley Railroad excursion proved to be a smashing success for all that attended. Next in line is our second annual Member Guest Tournament conducted on February 28 and soon after followed by our Annual Club Champion Tournament series on March 3 and 10. Still to come will be our Goodyear Ballpark Outing on March 22 and our Annual Awards Banquet on April 2.
Our PCM9GA accelerated growth rate continues and our membership role at last count approaches 335 members. Our PCM9GA highly encourages prospective new members to join our fun loving group which welcomes golfers at all skill levels. The annual $50 cost includes dues for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
