On August 24, a beautiful Arizona Monsoon morning when the temperature had not yet exceeded 92 degrees and humidity was at an acceptable 20 percent, 37 PCM9GA summer survivors met to play in a hotly contested Cha Cha tournament on the Tuscany Falls Palms Course.
The Cha Cha format requires the team score to be a total of nine holes where on each odd numbered hole the team score was the total of the two lowest team members net scores and on each even numbered hole the team score was the one team member’s lowest net score.
Three teams tied for first place winning all the Winnings Card prize money split evenly among the 12 players. The winning team score was 39.
The winners were Team 3A—Tom Reed, Dave Kennedy, Randy Prinz and Erv Stein; Team 5B—Bjarne Kaer, Tom Pizzello, Don Burrows and Dick Rippe; Team 8—Chris Mucha, Bob Mantucca and Ron Plotkin
Closest to the Pin Winners were Hole 4—Mike D’Onofrio and Hole 8—Greg McKenzie.
Breakfast refreshments were provided by the Association and enjoyed by all after the tournament.
