On the pleasantly temperate afternoon of May 8, over 100 of our PCM9GA golfers teed off at our Tuscany Falls and Palms Courses utilizing the Triple Dipper Tournament format. Per usual, our pairing committee members never cease to amaze us all with their endless array of mind-boggling variations and this format was again no exception at all. Basically all golfers for each foursome have established AGA handicaps and depending on the challenge level of each hole may get a score credit ranging from one to perhaps three strokes. This means, of course, that a novice golfer which may get lucky and achieve a six on a par five hole would wind up with a net four or even three. Then the rules of the Triple Dipper format results in the low net three team scores for a par five hole are used to determine the net score for that hole. Correspondingly, for a par four hole, the low net for two team members would be used and for a par three hole, the low net score for one golfer be utilized.
As expected the competition was keen and just a few strokes separated the winning foursomes from all others.
Congratulations to the winning foursomes listed as follows:
Falls Winners: First place, 56, Pat Moore, Ed Force, Ray Dombrowski and Alan Price; Second place 57, Tom Pizzello, Russ Georgesen, Russ Steglich and Bart Ventura; Third place, 61, Ray Baumbach, Bob Gunn, Larry Janda and Hank Pugsley

Our PCM9GA group is now operating in a somewhat more relaxed mode as far as activities are concerned after our busy spring event schedule which included our three session Championship Tournament and Annual Awards Banquet. Effective May 23 we will be reverting back to our warm season 7:30 a.m. start time to avoid the seasonal sizzling Arizona summer afternoon heat.
All interested golfers are urged to join our exciting and fun loving club which welcomes golfers at all skill levels. The annual $50 cost includes dues for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
