The PebbleCreek Men’s Nine Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) began to enjoy the thrill of the morning chill, as their tee-off time moved to 7:30 a.m. for the summer months. Two tournaments were held in May. Winners of the Summer Citizens Tournament included the front nine flight team, consisting of Bill Priebe, Fred Schwartz, Mickey Osterneck, and Erv Stein and the back nine flight team of Mike A. Brown, Dave Savage, Bill Davis, and Greg McGee. Winners of the Odd Even Tournament (2 Low Net on Even Holes, 3 Low Net on Odd Holes) were Fred Schmidt, John Craven, Sam Ellis, and Erv Stein.
The Niners also elected the new 2022/23 board of directors: President Louis Beaulieu, Vice President Trevor Ballinger, Director of Operations Bill Lansing, Secretary Bjarne Kaer, Treasurer Bruce Hulbert, Webmaster Kerry Walsh, and Publicity Chair Mark Eichkorn. A great deal of thanks goes to outgoing vice president Chris Mucha for his service. Also thanks to prior president, Trevor Ballinger, and former secretary, Louis Beaulieu, as they transition to new roles.
The Niners also named their most improved player for 2021 based on handicap index improvement. Congratulations to Tom Johnson!
The group has a great summer series of competitions planned, including a few unique tournaments. “The Gold Bash,” was held in June. The theme was money, where everyone is a winner and no one goes home empty handed. Upcoming events include “Cool Off Hawaiian Style” in July and “Ryder Cup Challenge” in August. This will include best ball scramble and alternate shots. Last will be “We Survived the Summer,” in September! The series will include fun attire, prizes, food, and beverages. Want to play in your own Ryder Cup? Well, you’ll have to join us!
