Our PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) group, founded in 2005, has had many key contributors through the years and and when appropriate has honored special members who have made most key accomplishments contributing to the growth and success of our group. On March 20, we conducted our Alan Hatfield Appreciation Tournament to honor Alan Hatfield, who recently moved back to Wisconsin after serving our PCM9GA for about 12 years. Alan substantially contributed to our PCM9GA operations with his innovative invaluable upgrades to our team pairing capabilities. Specifically, Alan developed the rather unique capability to further enhance our migration to the Golf Genius team pairing smartphone event scoring application to ensure a level competitive playing field for tournament events.

Alan grew up in rural Vilas County, Wisconsin, graduated from Wabash College, cum laude in 1968, Ohio State College of Medicine, cum laude, and Duke University School of Medicine in 1974 specializing in Internal Medicine and finally the National Cancer Institute (NIH) in 1976.

Dr. Hatfield over a 40+ year time span included notable accomplishments in oncology, internal medicine, drug development, and directing and facilitation of key breakthrough oncology trials.

The Alan Hatfield Appreciation event conducted on March 20 on our Eagles Nest course utilized the interesting Cha Cha Cha Scramble format with each team score based upon from one to three net scores. One, two, and three net team-member scores comprised the 9-hole team score. For example: one score for hole 1, two scores for hole 2, and three scores for hole 3, and so forth through the 9-hole event.

Kudos to the team winners as follows:

1st: John Mazzukelly, Steve Schwartz, Ron Froemming, Bill Lansing; To Par Net -8, Total 65
