The PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) kicked off December with a fast-stepping Cha Cha Cha tournament held at Eagle’s Nest on Dec. 7. For each foursome this format scores one low net on hole number 1, two low nets on hole number 2, and three low nets on hole number 3, repeating the “Cha Cha Cha” pattern over nine holes. Thirty-one foursomes took the field, with separate flights for the front and back nines.

Mark Eichkorn, Les Branson, Chuck Busker, and Jim Tackett took top honors on the front-nine flight, while Matt Jungels, Lennie Liebowitz, Patrick Sherlock, and Robert Burns captured the win on the back-nine flight.

The Nine Holers held their annual Holiday Event on Dec. 21 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The day kicked off at 10 a.m. with coffee, refreshments, and a spirited holiday trivia session hosted by Laurie Eichkorn. Brunch followed at 11 a.m., and included a raffle of eight gift baskets assembled by Pauline Beaulieu.

Of course golf was also involved. Two four-person scrambles were held on the Tuscany Falls East Course—a couples flight on the front nine and a member-member grouping on the back nine.

The couples flight was won by the foursome of Bill Davis, Sue Davis, James Mitchell, and Ruth Mitchell. The team of Bill Hill, Gary Havens, Bill Schroeder, and Bruce Eggers prevailed in the member-member flight. Winners of the two flights were awarded the coveted “genuine crystal” drink glasses bearing the PCM9GA logo.

A putting contest was also held, with Guy DeCosterd as referee. Peter Herman won the individual event, while the team of Steve Roseman, Peter Herman, and Scot Beseda took honors in the putting scramble.

The Nine Holers closed out 2023 with a demonstration of the Skins Game. Each foursome played the Skins Game over the Tuscany Falls East course. Randy McConaughey and Mark Walmsley won the most skins, with five apiece.
