A total of 44 most enthusiastic PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) members and
guests participated in a Top Golf event on Oct. 21 held at the Top Golf entertainment facility located nearby in Glendale, Ariz. Top Golf offers a real golfing experience using a variety of provided golf clubs and taking strokes in a truly specialized golf range environment. Scoring was computerized and GPS assisted in that a total of zero to 16 points per stroke were accumulated based upon where their shot landed in one of the six color–coded large segmented circular targets. Zero points were accumulated for completely missing the target with likely 2 points for reaching any of the six target areas, and up to 16 points for hitting the center of the designated target. Each team member’s scoring was based upon six rounds, two strokes per round and a total of 6 rounds with the first-round red target at 25 yards through the final white target round, which was 185 yards away.
For starters, an outstanding buffet breakfast along with drinks was served to each of the approximately nine groups at their tables with a maximum of six team members per group. The game assistants at Top Golf were very well trained and did a great job in orientating us on how to proceed. All and all, most everyone agreed that they enjoyed themselves tremendously while cheering each other on for a few spectacular close to center of target shots.
Congratulations to the winning group, Team Coffee—comprised of Randy Grauerholz, Jo Ann Grauerholz, John Miller, and Dan Waller—who attained a top winning points score of 257.
