On August 29, a total of 20 PebbleCreek foursomes, 80 golfers, which included our own PebbleCreek Pros as well as two PCM9GA foursomes participated in the well heralded Beat the Pros Challenge Tournament utilizing our Eagle’s Nest Course. While many of our non-golfing PebbleCreek residents may not be familiar with our resident Golf Pros, our golfing residents consider ourselves very fortunate to have such a fine group consisting of Ron Decker, Mike Pruitt, Dave Vader and Luke Delgado. That being said, real golf enthusiasts are typically fun loving but still take their game seriously and competing with true golf pros and the challenge of beating them in a tournament competition represents a tremendous and intriguing challenge.

A standard Scramble Tournament was utilized for this event with the net team scores based upon the aggregate prevailing AGA handicaps of all team members. In addition, the Pro foursome team members teed off from the Black Tees while the remaining foursomes teed off from the Blue Tees.

Special congratulations are in order for the PCM9GA foursome team comprised of our PCM9GA President Ray Clements, Randy Prinz, Pat Spellacy and Don Drummond which most proudly won the event coming in with a net team score 58.1 based upon their gross team score of 70. Close behind coming in second were our PC Pros coming in with an equally excellent net 59. In addition, the other PCM9GA participating team comprised of Larry Gleason, Rich Schmidt, Tom Pizzello and Dan Roberts also came in with a very notable net 61.

With our fall season rapidly approaching along with the most welcome temperate weather, our snowbird members will soon be joining for our weekly events which will include four off campus events during the reseeding operations. The off campus events beginning October 9 will be held at the Falcon Dunes Course, Tres Rios on October 15, Coyote Lakes on October 23 and Coldwater on October 30.

The PCM9GA group, now close to 270 members strong, has a truly awesome membership role largely comprised of easy going and fun loving golfers and welcomes new members at all skill levels. From July 16 through October 16, the reduced membership rate of $35 for new members prevails. After October 16, the cost for new members will be $50 but will cover all dues for the remainder of 2014 as well as 2015. The standard full year membership renewal dues are $50 which includes fees for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
