Our PCM9GA 9 Holer Group, now in our twelfth year of activities, celebrated the outstanding activity accomplishments of our outgoing Vice President Randy Prinz and President Ray Clements by conducting a most unique Vice President’s Tournament on May 26 with about 60 of our enthusiastic members participating.

This tournament was conducted at our Tuscany Falls Course and, to say the least, the format was far more than unique and quite far-out to say the least with absolutely no penalties to be assessed. While this strange format likely shocked many golf rule purists in that all out of bounds, lost balls, water balls and so forth were not scored as penalty strokes, the scoring was even more bizarre and really became borderline goofy at best, since the team score was based upon the highest score of each team member for each hole. And by the way, no Mulligans were permitted so we retained some degree of sanity. If you can further stretch your imagination and believe this, the scoring was further complicated by the rule that a maximum score for each hole for each team was tapped out at two strokes above PAR which meant that the highest score for a hole would be for example a five for PAR 3 holes, six for PAR 4 holes and seven for PAR 5 holes. By some degree of a major miracle, or perhaps pure coincidence, not every team attained the same score since it would appear that at least one team member for each hole would have maxed out at the maximum five, six or seven.

In spite of this totally unorthodox format, as expected we all had a grand old time and congratulations to the winners as follows:

Flight One Net Score Team Members

1st 46 Dick Atwater, Gordon Foster, Greg McKenzie, Pat Spellacy

2nd 47 Mike D’Onofrio, Ray Clements, Randy Prinz, Monte Page

3rd 48 Rick Goodwin, Rob Risden, Dick Ruder, Steve Shaver

Flight Two

1t 48 Clay Troxell, John Ward, Rick Miller, Greg Harris

2nd 49 Ray Dombrowski, Erv Stein, Jim Tackett, Karl Wisser

Once again, kudos to Ray Clements and Randy Prinz and the rest of the PCM9GA board for a truly awesome job and good luck to our incoming President Monti Page and Vice President Mike D’Onofrio and look forward to our continued summer events. Our regular weekly event activities continue through the summer cumulating with our Club Sizzler Tournament on August 25 and our annual Summer Survivor Tournament on September 28.

As always, we urge new interested members to join our fun-loving group which welcomes golfers at all skill levels. The $50 annual cost includes dues for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
