On the early morning of June 12 with prevailing still quite temperate weather, 68 PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) enthusiastic and motivated golfers gathered for our Ryders Cup tournament utilizing the Tuscany Falls East Front-Nine Course. The original Ryder Cup Tournament event, which began way back in 1927, was founded by Samuel Ryder, a notable English businessman.
The 68 participating golfers were divided into 34 twosome competitive pairs with one group designated the Herman Team and the other designated the Craven Team. To further add to the fun and excitement of this event, the Herman Team was distinguished by wearing White Shirts while the Craven Team wore Red Shirts.
Ryder Cup competitive scoring is typically based upon point format in which the winning paired two-team group is awarded one point for each hole. In cases of a tie on a specific hole, a 1/2 point is awarded to each two-team paired member. To add more intrigue and excitement to the event, Holes 1, 2, and 3 were conducted in Alternate Shot format where one partner member teed off on odd numbered holes and the other on even numbered holes. Holes 4, 5, and 6 utilized the Scramble scoring and Holes 7, 8, and 9 in the Best Ball format in which each of all team members’ best shot was used to determine the scores for each of these three holes. Winning scores were based upon the highest point winner of the two golfer competitive teams as well as for the highest point score of the winner of the Craven vs. Herman teams.
Congratulations to the top individual team members as follows:
1 James Stahl, Mark Swartz, Alternate: 3.00, Scramble: 2.50, Best Ball: 2.50, Total: 8.00

The Herman Team was declared as the overall Match Winner at 10 points with the Craven Team coming in at 7 points.
Following this event, we all gathered and enjoyed an excellent breakfast buffet at the Chianti Room where winners were announced and prizes and were awarded to all participants. The planning and facilitation of PCM9GA events to maximize the overall success invariably involves a great deal of staff and member coordination. John Mazzukelly did a marvelous job in the coordination and pairings for this event and our outgoing President, Ray Clements, was presented with a plaque for his awesome contributions in leading our PCM9GA as president for the 2024-25 term.
