Erv Stein
With our PCM9GA snowbird members still widely dispersed in more temperate locations, our core group of close to 50 summer resident golfers teed off at our Eagle’s Nest Front Nine Course utilizing one more intriguing tournament format variation in which for the first drive only, the best drive, was utilized. For succeeding shots through the final put shot, each team member utilized their own ball. Scoring for each hole was comprised of the four net scores for each team based upon the prevailing individual foursome member established AGA handicaps. The only other stipulation was that at least one drive from each team member had to be used for the nine hole event.
Kudos to the first place team coming in with a net 128 comprised of Dave Gasch, Randy Prinz, Bob Cowan and Rick Miller. Close behind two teams tied for second place with identical net 131 scores and tie breaking rules were invoked to separate the second and third place winners. Congratulations to the second and third place team members which respectively consisted of Erv Stein, Gary Draus, Stan Fuller and Al Lowe for second and likewise Rich Schmidt, Tom Pizzello, Jack Tulaba and Bart Tulaba for the third spot. Closest to the Pin Winners were Erv Stein and Don Drummond.
With our fall season rapidly approaching along with the most welcome return to far more temperate weather, our snowbird members will soon be joining for our weekly events which will include four off campus events during the reseeding operations. The off campus events beginning October 9 will be held at the Falcon Dunes Course, Tres Rios on October 15, Coyote Lakes on October 23 and Coldwater on October 30. In addition, the most highly anticipated fourth annual PCM9GA Holiday Party will be held on Friday, December 5 and the just announced Turf Paradise Race Track outing will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015.
The PCM9GA group, now close to 270 members strong, has a truly awesome membership role largely comprised of easy going and fun loving golfers and welcomes new members at all skill levels. From July 16 through October 16, the reduced membership rate of $35 for new members prevails. After October 16 the cost for new members will be $50 but will cover all dues for the remainder of 2014 as well as 2015. The standard full year membership renewal dues are $50 which includes fees for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
