On the most pleasant afternoon of December 3, 92 of our highly charged PCM9GA golfers teed off utilizing both the front and back-nine of Eagle’s Nest Courses in a quite fascinating 4-Club Scramble Format. This somewhat challenging 4-club format meant that each foursome team member was allowed to carry a total of four golf clubs of their choice in their bag or face elimination from the tournament competition. Specifically, most team members typically chose a driver or a number three or four hybrid, an intermediate number 6, 7 or 8 iron and the likely a pitching club or sand wedge and lastly a putter. Adding to the competitive drama was the fact that the Scramble format stipulated that each team utilize the best shot for each stroke for each successive shot which coupled with the limited choice of club selection for each stroke which equated to an even more intriguing and probably a truer testing of golfing proficiency.
Somehow as usual, the team competition was evenly matched, and sure enough, many teams came in with identical scores for both the front and back nines of Eagle’s Nest and tie-breaking rules were invoked to determine the winners. In fact, for the front nine two teams tied with a net 34 while the next three teams came in with identical net 34 scores. Similarly for the back nine, the winning team came in with a net 34 and the two runners up teams scored a net 35.

We conducted our last tournament of the year which was our PREZ PRO Tournament on December 17. We are kicking off the New Year with our Verde Valley Railroad Excursion on January 17 followed by our next Member-Guest Tournament on February 25 and soon after our annual Club Champion Tournament series on March 3 and 10.
Our PCM9GA growth rate continues to rapidly expand and as incredible as it may seem, we are now 340 members strong which is a far cry from our humble few dozen initial founding membership role in 2005.
Our PCM9GA highly encourages prospective new members to join our fun-loving group which welcomes golfers at all skill levels. The annual $50 cost includes dues for the AGA membership which is essential for handicap reporting.
