The following events are scheduled by the PCLGA for the months of March and April 2017 and, although they were noted in last month’s Upcoming Events article, they deserve to be mentioned again as they are the last scheduled tournaments of the PCLGA 2016-2017 season:
March 14, 21 and 22 – Tournament of Champions, Co-Chairs Sally Babbitt, Barb Rossi, Donnie Meyers, Karen Vagley. This tournament determines the overall PCLGA lowest gross and lowest net champions of the field. The tournament shall be in flights per handicap. After the Tournament of Champions has been determined, winners shall be paid in each flight based on low gross and low net scores. Hopefully, you are already signed up to play in this tournament, but if not, and you meet the eligibility requirements, be sure and do so. You don’t want to miss these three fun days of golf. Best of luck to all of those who participate!
April 2, 3 and 4, 2017 – Member/Guest Tournament, Chair Cheryl Skummer and Vice-Chair Diane Pratuch. This is not only a tournament, but quite an event. Many volunteer PCLGA members are busy assisting Cheryl Skummer and Diane Pratuch in getting ready for Jewels of the Desert, the theme of this year’s PCLGA Member/Guest Tournament. There are 66 four-player teams, which will be broken down into six flights of 11 teams each. The flight names and colors are Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Citrine, Amethyst and Turquoise. After checking the March 1 handicaps, the flight teams will be posted. The format for the first day of golf is a Hero: Two Net with Jewel Surprise at Eagle’s Nest; and the second day of golf, the format is Corners: Two Net, Three Net on Corners on Tuscany Falls courses. In addition to the two days of golf, there will be skills contests, raffles, money tree, mulligans, a brunch on the first day, a lunch, an awards luncheon in Tuscany Falls Ballroom at the end of the tournament, prizes, gifts and more to create a fun atmosphere for members and their guests.
