PCLGA Super Seniors and Senior Champions Named for 2024!

Another major tournament is a wrap! The PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) honored super seniors (over age 75), seniors (ages 65-74), and let the juniors (under age 65) join in the fun during the annual Super Senior Golf Tournament held for two days in February. The champions vied for the coveted title(s) at Eagles Nest on Feb. 13 and at Tuscany Falls East on Feb. 17.

The 2024 Super Senior Gross Champion is Chanca Morrell, who shot a 79 on day one and an 80 on day two, and our Super Senior Net Champion is Diana Wolf who shot a net 71 and a net 68 respectively in the individual Super Senior stroke play event for players over age 75.

Other Super-Senior winners were:

Flight 1: Linda Nathan (1st gross), Carol Dick (2nd gross), Barb Economou (1st net), Carolyn Apodaca (2nd net), and Lynda Bronzetti and Judi Newell (tied for 3rd net)

Flight 2: Trish Wagner (1st gross), Cathy Schafer (2nd gross), Donna Havener (1st net), and Linda Mirro (2nd net), and Sue White (3rd net)

Flight 3: June Proznik (1st gross), Ruth Shaffer (2nd gross), Suzan Simons (1st net), Sharon Smith (2nd net), and Pat DeMatties (3rd net)

The 2024 Senior Tournament Gross Champion is Kathy Huber-Wyss with a gross score of 159 (76 in round one and 83 in round two). Susan Harris was named Senior Net Champion with her combined net score of 137 (68 net on day one and 69 net on day two).

Congratulations to Jean Ostroga who scored an eagle on hole #11 at Tuscany Falls East during tournament play.

Other Senior Division winners were:

Flight 1: Teresa Christianson (1st gross), Mary Harris (2nd gross), Jean Ostroga (1st net), Karen Myers and Kittie Day (tied for 2nd net)

Flight 2: Kathi Curtis (1st gross), Debbie Sayre (2nd gross), Karen Poturalski (1st net), Kathy Ellis (2nd net), and Suzanne Eleam (3rd net)

Flight 3: Julia Unkrich (1st gross), Cheryl Skummer (2nd gross), Chris Cook (1st net), Sharon Johnson (2nd net), and Becky Rio (3rd net)

Flight 4: Jeannie Alvarez and Lindy Smith (tied for 1st gross), Janell Jenson and Carol Taylor (tied for 1st net), and Linda Sweet (3rd net)

In the Junior Division, Laura Drummond was the gross winner for the second consecutive year, and Mary Pinksy was the net winner. Other Junior winners were Susan Gavin (2nd gross), Liz Mitchell (3rd gross), and Margaret Dlouhy (4th gross), Bergitta Reese (2nd net), and Brenda Cook and Denise Gardner (tied for 3rd net).

Following play on Feb. 17, all Super Seniors were recognized for their participation in the PCLGA, and Super Senior and Senior Tournament gross and net winners were each given $100 and a trophy in recognition of their awesome performance.
