On February 6 and 7, 2018, the PCLGA held its Senior/Super Senior tournament, co-chaired by Paula Fix and Carolyn Apodaca. “The Golden Girls” was the tournament’s theme which honors our senior members who are 65 and older and our super seniors who are 75 and older, although many younger golfers played as well in honor of the seniors. Super Seniors (over 75) had a choice of playing both days or playing in a one day Super-Senior Tournament held only on February 7.
It was a beautiful two days of golf with the first day played on Eagle’s Nest and the second day played on Falls/Palms. The lunch after golf on the second day was a hearty Italian buffet that most people loved. The “young” players (under 65) added a little levity to the event by wearing baby bibs to lunch. So cute!
The overall 2018 champions were announced by Pro Jason Whitehall. Low Gross Senior Champion was Judy Hauser and Low Net Senior Champion was Donnie Meyers. Low Gross Super Senior Champion was Barb Economou and Low Net Super Senior Champion was Sylvia Robinson. Each of these champions received $100 and a beautiful trophy.
After the champions were determined, the remaining players competed for low gross and low net awards by flight. Winners were:
