Each year, a team of PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) members commit to represent PebbleCreek as members of the PebbleCreek Roadrunners traveling golf team. The Roadrunner league is a highly competitive league with teams from eight different clubs across the greater Phoenix area. The clubs are Anthem, Blackstone, Briarwood, Desert Mountain, PebbleCreek, Red Mountain Ranch, Superstition Mountain, and Tonto Verde golf clubs.
Ellen Enright and Kathy Hubert-Wyss are the captains of the Roadrunner team for the 2019–20 season. The team this year is made of fabulous women golfers: Amber Rivera, Andrea Dilger, Cindy Sota, Ellen Enright, Jana Cunningham, Kathy Hubert-Wyss, Kittie Day, Layne Sheridan, Marilyn Reynolds, Monica Lee, Mary Harris, Renee deLassus, Sarah Marsh, Sharon Hadley, and Sheri Sears.
Play during the season rotates among the eight clubs, with each team hosting a match. For each match, the eight team members from PebbleCreek with the currently lowest handicaps are chosen to make up four two-person teams and compete against the other teams in the league in a four ball, better known as a better ball event.
Throughout the eight-event season, a running tally of scores is kept by the league for both low gross and low net. PebbleCreek got off to an awesome start by finishing first place gross in their first competition on Nov. 25 at Tuscany Falls West. Good luck to the PebbleCreek Roadrunner Team in all their future matches!
