Twelve members of the PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) travelled to Los Caballeros Golf Club in Wickenburg on Nov. 7 to play in the final Central Arizona Golf District (CAGD) tournament of the year.
Los Caballeros is a very popular course with golfers and the field filled up fast and was full.
PCLGA teams represented were as follows: Kathy Carney and Judy Layton, Barb Chilton and Sharon Johnson, Carolyn Suttles and Jane Hee, Linda Thompson and Carol Sanders, Cherrie Pierson and Judy Newell and Mary Falso and Peggy Steffan.
Judy Layton, PCLGA President, commented that the day was gorgeous and that the course played difficult; especially with the lightning fast greens.
However, six PCLGA players won in the 2-Person Net Best Ball game. Judy Layton and Kathy Carney were Overall Low Net Champions with a 64 Net. Cherrie Pierson had the Lowest Individual Net Score with a 72 Net. Awesome job, ladies! Judy Layton and Kathy Carney won Low Net in their flight; Flight 5. Judy Newell and Cherrie Pierson won Low Net in their flight; Flight 1. Carolyn Suttles and Jane Hee won 2nd Low Net in their flight; Flight 4. Congratulations to all the winners.
A luncheon consisting of sandwiches and salads was served after the round. At the luncheon, new CAGD officers were installed. Sue Harrison (PCLGA member and past CAGD president) conducted the ceremony. Two PCLGA members are on the 2020 board. Linda Thompson is Membership Chair and Carol Sanders is Treasurer. Carolyn Suttles (PCLGA member and past CAGD president) received a memento to recognize her time while serving as president. This had not been given to her previously.
The 2019 season has been a great one; and in a way, it was sad to see it come to an end. But players are looking forward to 2020 for another wonderful season.
